In the ancient Hebrew, Psalms is composed of 5 books compiled at various times with a doxology closing each one:

Book One:

Psalms 1 - 41 [Collected during Davidic times]

Book Two:

Psalms 42 - 72

Book Three:

Psalms 73 - 89 [Collected after the fall of Jerusalem, 586 B.C.]

Book Four:

Psalms 90 - 106

Book Five:

Psalms 107 - 150 [Post-exilic collection]
