I've read books, done therapy, and consulted with many for over 16 years
without any substantial progress.  Among other problems, I need to deal with
a mental compulsion to break apart words and phrases into symmetrical
groups, the continual counting and sorting of everything I see, and the
uncontrollable parade of ideas in my head competing for attention.  This
interferes with concentration, impairs decision-making, and leads to
frustration and depression.

Thank you for your contact. It is clear by your request you are serious
about overcoming the condition you describe. And it is also likely, by your
indication of the longevity of this problem, you have educated yourself as
to the specifics of this condition as it relates to you. I'm not quite sure,
however, to what degree you have obtained help in your consultations with
others--medication, therapy, pastoral counseling, etc?

As you likely know, the prevailing opinion indicates for those seriously
afflicted with this condition and have been diagnosed properly, a course of
pharmaceutical treatment, with several type drugs being offered in this
field. I assume you have been to a competent and qualified personal
physician?

Anyway, to respond to your request for help in the areas you specified, I
have enclosed a short list of references that may be of some help. Mostly,
I'm wondering about your spiritual life and how that impacts the problem you
describe? Being, a minister who believes in the physical and psychological
help God provides us through trained physicians and counselors, those who
have been given specific gifts and knowledge for physical and mental
healing, I place great weight on their value in our lives.

That being said, I also believe there is only one healer, one true
physician, and that One has already demonstrated in life His capacity to
help any who desire through faith His ability and intervention to provide an
answer to their need. The witness of the thousands He helped during His
short life, and the millions since His death and resurrection cannot be
discounted or dismissed. They are real! I also know this from what He has
done personally in my own life. I don't know of your faith, but know this,
that today I will pray a specific pray for you and your request.

Finally, I also place the greatest weight on His Word and the power through
it to speak to and meet every need common to us all. First, know that Jesus
said himself that there is no condition or experience that any of us have or
will encounter that He Himself did not experience while alive, and He
overcame! He did that that He might have the authority and power in all
areas common to us to offer the same victory! So, I will start you with
these few Bible references, that are just as important, or more so, than
anything you may read written by the best of medical practitioners:

II Corinthians 3:17
II Corinthians 10: 3-5
Psalms 119: 113-114
