Think On This
Awaken, O ye Preachers! Awaken, O ye Preachers! Awaken, O ye Preachers! Awaken, O ye Preachers!

God is speaking today with a loud and commanding voice: Awaken, O Ye Preachers, Awaken, for I am about to insert my sword of justice and stir up a revival of my righteousness within your land and among my people.

On June 27, 2018, President Trump flew to Fargo, North Dakota to speak at a campaign rally for his party's state candidates running for the U.S. Congress. ( Listen)  As had been for his own 2016 presidential bid for office, the venue was fully booked. In addition, thousands, unable to gain entry, gathered outside to hear him speak over loudspeakers. Many more were turned away. Inside the arena the crowd's enthusiasm was palpable. After enumerating many of his campaign promises already fulfilled, the President spoke to the nation's cultural times and the toxic political atmosphere in its capitol. Recognizing the corruption pervasive throughout the federal government and the level of evil overshadowing our nation, he delivered a very poignant line, a line that struck at the heart of our spiritual need.

He had used the phrase of our need to 'worship God and not government' in many of his previous speeches, to which he always received a rousing response. However, in this instance, he used it three times in three various forms, each time the crowd increasing in their cheers and exuberance. As he spoke the third instance and the crowd erupted with their enthusiastic approval, the hair raised on my neck. I will never forget the words that were born in my spirit in that historic moment, words I believed from our God: "I have just lit the flame of renewal in the heartland of America, not in the Bible belt of the South or with some tele-preacher, but with my chosen 'governor' of my people. It will take the (priests) preachers to fan that spark to spread the flame. Failing to do so will cause the fire to extinguish. Seek me while I may yet be found."

The text of a sermon I delivered many years ago immediately followed in my thoughts, Hag.1:14, "And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,". Notice in Hag.1:14 the order in which the Spirit stirred the people from their complacency--top down--from the governor to the priests to the people. In chapter 2 of Haggai you will find 3 messages: 1) to all, especially the people (vs.1-9), 2) to the priests (vs.10-19), and 3) to the governor (vs.20-23). One must read Ezra 4:24 & chapter 5 for context and background to these messages. These two prophets, Ezra and Haggai, were contemporaries when the construction of God's house following the Babylonian captivity was halted. God was now indicting them for its reason.

Plains of North Dakota That God has not changed (Psalms 22:28, "For the kingdom is Jehovah's; And he is the ruler over the nations. Psalms 9:17, The wicked shall be turned back unto Sheol, Even all the nations that forget God."). Today, our nation has become complacent and ambivalent towards God, even rejecting Him within most if not all of every institution and the society as a whole. Yet, the church remains silent even when new candidates for the highest office speak openly of stripping her of her fundamental rights. I ask, where are the governors (besides Trump)?, where are the priests (preachers)?, and where are the masses of spiritually awakened people of today? Echoes of silence! It is coming, nevertheless, just as God willed it so in that historical time in order to save a nation He alone established for righteousness. Just as He willed it so with a stiff-necked people so soon after entering into the exodus (Numbers 14:21). It is coming! His righteousness, His Glory! It is coming!

The spark of that consuming fire from Him was set in the plains of North Dakota when the President spoke on that memorable June day. What remains is will the nation's spiritual leaders recognize God speaking through his 'governor' for a renewed awakening in America, a reclaiming of His place among us and a restoration of His righteousness within her people. Or, as some believe, have we gone too far? Have we missed the 'day of salvation'?

Awaken, O ye preachers! Awaken, that the people might yet be saved and live. The fate of this nation rests on it.

The following are a few crucial thoughts from His Word pertaining to a wise and just ruler of a nation. Indeed, KINGS WHO FAVOR HIM, because of his righteousness, will find his nation highly exalted.

  1. Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
  2. Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
  3. Proverbs 14:35
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
  4. Proverbs 16:15
In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of THE LATTER RAIN.
  5. Proverbs 20:26
A WISE KING SCATTERETH THE WICKED, AND BRINGETH THE WHEEL OVER THEM.
  6. Proverbs 28:2
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof (deep state actors): BUT BY A MAN OF UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE THE STATE THEREOF SHALL BE PROLONGED.
  7. Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
  8. Proverbs 29:4
The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
  9. Proverbs 29:12
If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
  10. Proverbs 29:14
The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
  11. Proverbs 29:16
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
  12. Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
