CHAPTER |
1.
(750 B.C.?)
[Micah's universal message directed specifically to Samaria, capital of the Northern Kingdom Israel, and Jerusalem,
capital of the Southern Kingdom Judah. During the reigns of Judah's 10th-12th kings: Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah respectively.]
God will come from His dwelling place as a witness against Israel's sins, treading down their high places,
destroying their palaces of idolatry, leveling the walls of their cites, and destroying their many idols. Samaria will be razed.
Israel is incurable! Judah is threatened. Micah's lamentation for their condition, the land conquered, and their children sold into slavery.

2.
(730 B.C.?)
[A woe to the evil men and their cunning ways.]
God will repay evil for evil! The evil's lamentation and distress. The rich's injustices against the poor.
False prophets are for idolatrous people. They speak only what is desired to be heard.
A remnant will be preserved to return and a Messiah will lead them.
3.
(710 B.C.?)
Israel's sins are rebuked and her rulers warned. The degree of their sins is exposed therefore their cry to God
cannot be heard. His face is turned from them. Their false prophets are denounced. The people have no vision from the Lord,
no answer to their prayers. Their unjust judgments and sins will bring upon their total destruction. Zion and Jerusalem will be razed.
4.
[The Messiah's Kingdom.]
His mountain will be restored in the last days. Many will come from all nations to be instructed and walk in His just ways.
He will judge all, eliminate war, and peace will come to every citizen of Zion. A remnant restored.
The wicked's cry for now is futile; captivity will come, but some to return later.
Though many nations are now come against her, they fail to understand His total plan;
they will be gathered at the end-time for their judgment, at the restored hand of Israel.
5.
Though Jerusalem is threatened, Bethlehem will provide a Messiah. A remnant will return. Assyria will be wasted.
The restored will be a dew to many people. Her enemies will be cut off. Israel to be judged for now.
6.
God pleads with His people in His controversy with them over their sins. What can one do to please Him?
Three things:
(1) Do justly,
(2) Love mercy, and
(3) Walk humbly before the Lord.
These they were in gross neglect. God brings the wicked's deeds to naught because they walked not in the ways of David,
but their Kings Omri and Ahab.
7.
The righteous perish. Sin is rampant. Households are divided, son against father, daughter and daughter-in-law against mother.
None to be trusted, not even one's wife, nor neighbor. The repentant is to wait upon God, suffering the indignation of his own sin.
Restoration will come! God's flock shall return. The nations will see. There is none like God who pardons iniquity and delights
in mercy. His promises are kept. He Is Wonderful!
