Think On This
Satan, Incapable of Love Satan, Incapable of Love Satan, Incapable of Love

Satan, Incapable of Love
  • He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. - I John 4:8

Read  I John 4.

Satan was NOT created with:

  1.  the will of man
  2.  the personality of man
  3.  the emotions of man
  4.  the nature of man, nor,
  5.  in the image of God.

Therefore, He DOES NOT possess the capacity of love as do God and we.

His mind is not God's mind.
His thoughts are not God's thoughts.
His ways are not God's ways.

Nor, are they any of that of ours.

He does not possess love in any degree!
And if he does not possess it,

  • it is impossible for him to give it;
  • it is impossible for him to show it;
  • it is impossible for him to do it, period!

He CANNOT give that which he does not possess.
He does not possess that which God did not to give him when He created him!

Therefore, IF IT IS LOVE, IT IS OF GOD!
For He alone IS LOVE.

  • He has the personality to love.
  • He has the nature to love.
  • He IS the Living God, not an image of any one or any thing, nor as a result of any one or any thing before Him.
  • He alone has the will, power, and authority to GIVE love.
  • He has given solely to us those exclusive attributes pertaining to love.

As He has the will, power, and authority to give it, we have the will, power, and authority to give it as well.
Not only to give it to Him in return, but to obey the commandment from Him to give it to each other.
This is His message to us.
It is 2-fold:

  1.  to love Him and seek Him with our whole heart,
  2.  and to love each other as He loves us!

THAT'S IT!

No other creature heretofore He has created possesses those traits. That is what sets us apart, even from the angels.

  1.  It was for us Christ came.
  2.  It was for us Christ lived.
  3.  It was for us Christ died.
  4.  It was for us Christ arose.
  5.  It was for us Christ ascended and sat down in authority to give gifts to men.

Both are of a fallen nature—Satan who rebelled in heaven and all those fallen angels who followed him in that rebellion.
As they, we co-exist here with them in each our own fallen nature.
Both are here on this planet awaiting the outcome of God's judgment for our rebellion:

  • first, theirs which occurred before His throne in Heaven and continues on Earth,
  • and, second, ours which occurred before Him in His Garden with Adam and continues with each human in every generation.

But it is to us alone He has provided a way of redemption.
To us has been given the will to choose and to return His love.
As much as He has chosen us, we, of all creatures, have been given the will to choose Him.
We must choose Him. Or else, what would be the purpose in giving us choice?
What would be the need for our redemption?
What need would Christ have had to suffer and die?

Christ certainly didn't die for the fallen angels. There is no redemption possible for them, only us!

Finally, as with most things of God, Satan does have the capacity to imitate. But it is an illusion!
So, be careful with that to which you ascribe love. For many things are done in the name of love which are not.

And remember this, Satan did not die for you! But Jesus did—His ultimate expression of love.   Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13

The question is: what will you do with His Love for you, expressed in the death of His Son?
