John Chapter 7

III.
CONCLUDING COMMENTS.

A.
John has shown us that man's own reason plus his hardness of heart is key to God not revealing his Son to him. For the one whose heart is not stone and will not let his little knowledge blind him to the witness of Christ (regardless the one of the 7 it may be), faith is possible to secure his salvation. Eating of the Bread of Life, then, is simply saying: "I believe."

B.
In Ch.8, John will bring together the two extreme representatives of sinful man living in darkness, as discussed in Chs.3 & 4. This will occur in a meeting with Christ, and He will again appeal to man to come to the Light. The softhearted will see and believe but the blind will continue to stumble on their own self-chosen path that will eventually lead them to ruin ( Prov.16:25).
