John Chapter 9

III.
CONCLUDING COMMENTS.

1:11
Rom 9:1-4

Lk.23:24
A.
The question has been asked why Jesus went to such great lengths to persuade, or teach, these hypocritical Pharisees, and all other unbelievers. In addition to what has already been said, consider another major valid point now in our study: So that it can not, nor will not, be said of Jesus in times to come that He did not give His own ample understanding and opportunity to see, hear, experience, and believe! If Paul was willing to be accursed that all Israel might see and believe, how much more so the Savior, their Messiah? He will expend His last argument and exhaust His final breath to bring them in: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." This was His heart, even for His enemies.

TRUTH:
SINCE JESUS HAS DONE SO MUCH, SHOULD WE DO ANY LESS FOR THE BLIND SINNER IN OUR OWN SOCIETY TODAY?

B.
John has now shown us Jesus as:.

1.
The Logos of Creation,

2.
The Light of the World,

3.
The Lamb slain from the Foundation,

4.
The Ladder of Jacob for our Heavenly Ascent,

5.
The Living Water for New Birth,

6.
The Pool of Siloam into which all must descend, and

7.
The Bread of Life.

He will next show Him as both The Good Shepherd and The Door through which one must enter His Kingdom. He is the Ark of Salvation, and there is not but one Door through which all (Jew & Gentile alike) must enter into His mercy. As it was for Noah in the Flood in the Earth's first destruction, so it will be for man in the Fire in its second ( II Pe.3:7).

C.
With all this said, let His own Word speak in summation:

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
- Hebrews 2:1- 4
