We are now at the point of the greatest contrast -- love and hate, that Jesus has most recently been teaching. A heart filled with love, shown in Ch.17, is now about to be met by men consumed by hate in Ch.18. We stand on the sword's edge, laid between 17 & 18, dividing Light and darkness, Good and evil, Love and hate. The edge is so sharp no man may not rest upon it. All who stand between these two, when they meet, must choose: on the one side -- Life; on the opposite -- death.

As in His day, in any day, some will betray Him, some will deny Him, but He still possesses the heart seen in this wonderful Chapter to forgive any who will come to Him seeking forgiveness, no matter what course you may temporarily take in life.
