Best praying is the difference done from devotion and not duty,
the difference in a life lived in liberty and one lived legally!
Good to pray because one has to than not pray at all, but better
to pray because one wants to above all!
If all one's praying is primarily performed in public, it is
safe to say their personal relationship with the Saviour is poor
at best, if existent at all. The Master is best met in personal
privacy where no one sees but Him.
Devotional praying edifies the soul, but deeper prayer electrifies the spirit.
See prayer as the net that catches every thought and brings it
into submission to Christ in one who walks in obedience, abiding
in His love.
(II Co.10:5;
John 15)
God is so vast His creation cannot contain Him, yet so focused
He can live within you. He is the centrality of all life. So, see
God so great that when you enter His Presence you discover He was
there all the while, and from His presence you can never go.
Though your words may cease, His spirit goes with you, only to
meet you again the next time you turn to Him, there all the while.
He is that close—a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
What an awesome companion! God at your side, no matter where you
are! (Ps.139;
Heb.13:5)
If you are not your own but have been bought with a price to
glorify Him through your body, should not your words then be
composed by His Holy Spirit and not by yourself alone? If it were
not for His Spirit, you would not be able to speak at all! "The
preparations of the heart in man and the answer of the tongue, is
from the Lord"
(Prov.16:1).
Therefore, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my
heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my
redeemer" should be the preface to your every prayer
(Ps.19:14).
When praying, remember, the breath you use to form the words you
pray is holy, therefore, your words lifted to Him should be a holy
sacrifice. Allow His breath which formed you, and resides within
you by which you speak, be joined with Him by the words you choose.
So, choose words from your heart, for those alone will He hear.
Remember, too, the words you choose will determine the course of
your soul in life
(Hosea 13:1 & 14:2).
Words chosen apart from God will lead you astray from Him. Words
chosen in mind of God—His Kingdom and its righteousness—will
direct your steps toward Him, and, in the end, bring you peace.
So, be careful in choosing your words, or, what you ask!
