If we are earthly imperfect, then all our works, no matter how good done or good intended, are all flawed. God then must accept us in our flawed condition, incapable of perfection outside Him, when we acknowledge our condition and seek His assistance (Ps.130:3). For Him to do less would be unmerciful! We can only be made complete or whole when our deficiencies are met by His sufficiencies. Repentant one standing before a merciful God, such an one He cannot turn away (Lk.17:3-4; Jn.6:37). To do so would be inconsistent with His very nature. And so Christ came, to make it possible for a Holy God to accept unholy man the first and each time thereafter.
